Urban foodie

About

Urban Foodie is a growing team, headed by me, Mia, the Urban Foodie with Chris, The Gastrognome, on reviews, D on content back-up and the Joomla community on technical support.

A couple of years ago I had a seedling of an idea for a website, one that would allow me to pursue my foodie passion and create a site for urban foodies like me. Londoners who love food and cooking, care about where it comes from but don’t live in a River Cottage with endless time and funds or access to nettles that haven’t had dogs or car fumes at them.

This site is the tree that has grown from that seed.

Urban Foodie is a place to find and share quick and easy recipes, meet other London foodies, get recommendations for dinner out in the reviews section, and recommendations for dinner in on the blog.

Find out what’s in season and what recipes to cook now.

Whatever you need to help you eat real food, every day it’s here. We even have a baby foodie section for when there is a very little one to feed.

The favourites folder is a great resource when planning dinner, simply select your favourites from the recipes on the site, and upload your own from elsewhere – having all your recipes in one place saves you trawling Google every night for ideas. The forum will help if you’re having trouble making or finding something or if you just want to talk about what to have for lunch…

Urban Foodie was a food blog from March 08 - Sept 09. It is now a fully fledged foodie hub with lots more exciting developments planned for 2010 including an evolved recipe finder, podcasts, an iphone app and local smallholder shop.

The web is a torrent of information, Urban Foodie is a foodie filter that you can trust – a sort of uber knowledgeable (but not snooty) foodie friend, they always have lots of great suggestions for dinner, either what to cook or where to eat it.

We hope you find the site a rich seam to tap in the never ending quest for eating a nice dinner!

Contact us if you have any comments, we'd love to hear from you.
