What's in Season April
April things are really green now, lots of wild herbs like rocket and wild garlic are about - try and get hold of some wild garlic of you can it is a really wonderful leaf that has a subtle, fragrant garlic flavour, chop it finely into salads or roughly into omlettes, soups and sauces, it makes an interesting change to the bulb in your cooking. The Spring lambs have sprung although these are the lambs who have been weaned indoors, I'd wait uintil a bit later in the season to eat the ones that have gamboled in the fields, they are a far tastier bunch. The other big news at the end of April is, of course, the new potato, but more of that in May...
